Veronica, currently from Germany, has been working as a freelance artist for independent dance collectives and notable theaters in Germany and Denmark since 2015.
Since 2015, I’ve been working as a freelance artist for independent dance collectives as well notable theaters such as the Staatstheater Darmstadt, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in Germany, Betty Nansen Theater in Copenhagen.
In 2023, together with other artists, we founded the dance project FREYAS in Berlin. I am currently collaborating as project/logistics manager for Youth Power Germany e.V and perusing my master degree in Arts and Culture management, to push my career as entrepreneur.
I was born in Rome, where I began my training in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance. Dance art is the core of my entrepreneurial journey, and proof that artists, particularly dancers can be successful as self employed persons. After spending two years with a young dance company, I embarked on my professional career in 2009 and had the privilege of working with renowned choreographers and guest performed for theater and various festivals and galas across the USA, Uruguay, Tanzania, and Europe.
In 2013, I moved to Germany where I was honored to join the Staatstheater Darmstadt as a solo dancer under the artistic direction of Mei Hong Lin. Since then I am based in Germany, working as a freelance artist, costume designer, assistant, choreographer and project manager.
Choreographic creations belongs to the category of choreographic works.
This may include ballet, a dance, a dance step, a figure, the staging of a choreography, whatever the style.
Choreographic works are intellectual works and can be protected by copyright law, a branch of intellectual property. This right protects creations of all kinds (literary, musical, graphic, scientific, etc., except for ideas and concepts).
There are some rules and best practices to follow in different countries, and I am still finding my way in this very interesting field, looking into my own rights if and when it comes to the need of protecting my choreography, but also respecting the work of others.
