From the beginning, we wanted to have an online-only business. We wanted to be able to manage it remotely, so Estonia was the choice.

Currently, I am a third-year bachelor’s student in information and communication technology in Lithuania. I was born in Turkey and have travelled a lot due to my parents’ occupation. I’ve been to many places – from the Middle East and Asia to North America and Europe. After graduating from a Turkish high school, I decided to apply to a European university. VILNIUS TECH was one of the universities to which I applied and was quickly invited to study.
When I was in middle school, I developed a passion for programming and computers, and thus joined a community of fellow teenagers engaged in programming and hacking activities. We accomplished many amazing things together, such as discovering security vulnerabilities in government organizations. We also collaborated on open-source projects. Being privacy-conscious, we opted to self-host services and provision our own servers. The same core team from back then has now formed our own company.
“It would be helpful if more resources were available, such as how to find investors, pitch ideas to investors, secure patents, and other relevant topics. Instead of relying on consulting firms, it would be beneficial if universities offered these resources.”
Digilol ÖU serves clients ranging from small to large businesses, as well as individual clients. The company offers consulting and penetration testing for company infrastructure and websites. They provide both front-end and back-end development services.
LESSONS FOR PatENT
From the beginning, we wanted to have an online-only business. We wanted to be able to manage it remotely from anywhere, so we didn’t limit ourselves to Lithuania. Estonia was a top choice because all we needed to do was visit the Estonian embassy to pick up our Estonian e-Residency cards. From that point, we could register our business remotely, handle taxes, and open a bank account online. We also appreciated the tax exemption on reinvestments. Overall, Estonia offered a more convenient, modern, and cost-effective solution than other countries.
