PatENT online hub

Guidebook on establishing the Educational hubs

The Guidebook serves as a practical tool for establishing and managing PatENT Educational Hubs in partner countries. While initially intended for use by PatENT partners and their staff, it’s also applicable to other interested organizations, including youth organizations beyond the project consortium.

The objectives of the Guidebook are as follows:

  • Step-by-Step Framework: It provides a structured framework outlining the essential steps for establishing, operating, and sustaining PatENT Educational Hubs. This encompasses logistical planning, staffing, information sharing, and engagement with external stakeholders.
  • Inclusive Environment: It emphasizes the role of PatENT Educational Hubs in fostering inclusivity, enabling young migrants to integrate more effectively into their communities. The hubs aim to develop soft skills, promote understanding of cultural business norms, and boost confidence in entrepreneurial pursuits.
  • Knowledge Sharing: The Guidebook shares key references and knowledge sources that hub facilitators can utilize to educate young migrants about entrepreneurship. This includes information on patenting processes, business model creation, market analysis, and legal considerations.
  • Practical Learning: It encourages practical learning by detailing methods for implementing hands-on experiences within the hubs, such as workshops, mentorship programs, and networking opportunities with local entrepreneurs and business leaders.
  • Ecosystem of Support: The Guidebook advocates for building partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and non-profits to support the hubs. These collaborations can provide additional resources, expertise, and opportunities for participants.
  • Insights and Learnings: It introduces insights and learnings from the development and operation of five physical PatENT Educational Hubs located in Lithuania (2), Ireland, Germany, and Portugal, as well as one e-format hub in Estonia. Each hub offers educational materials and services focused on entrepreneurship development and idea patenting, aiding migrants in their entrepreneurial endeavors. These experiences serve to inform and inspire the creation and operation of new hubs.
