From Chef TV-editor to pastry-cook. I always thought I didn’t like cooking. Due to a busy schedule working in television, I spent very little time in the kitchen. But the war in Ukraine, emigration to Portugal, and a whole host of difficulties that suddenly fell on my shoulders forced me to completely analyse myself, my life, my desires, and my goals. Thanks to Portugal and the hospitality of its people, I had the time and opportunity to learn the local language and participate in various educational courses. In 2023, I completed a six-month culinary course at the School of Hospitality and Tourism, and unexpectedly fell in love with pastry making.
Next came long months of practice, sweat, and tears, all in the hope of baking my first perfect French macarons… and I succeeded. I began to excel in many things, and my desserts were being bought by friends, acquaintances, and soon after, I started gaining regular clients.
For the most part, my business still lives in my head, and I can only do a small part of it thanks to social networks, especially by selling my desserts on Instagram. But life is very short, and I don’t want to die without fully realising my idea. After all, I sincerely believe that Portugal is currently one of the best places to start and develop a small or medium-sized business.

Mocho Sweets is a pastry workshop specialising in trendy and classic desserts made from natural ingredients, which are popular all over the world. Examples include bento cakes, macarons, cat-shaped puddings, meringue pastries, marshmallow flowers and bouquets, and more. A distinctive feature of the bakery is the constant updating of the product range based on customer preferences and global pastry trends.
Each product has an alternative version with reduced sugar or completely sugar-free. Mocho Sweets main customers are tourists and locals under the age of 40.
All pastry items can be ordered online, offline, or customized for special events, celebrations, or even conferences. The main goal of Mocho Sweets is to grow from a pastry kitchen and product pick-up point into a creative space where meetings, workshops, lectures, and classes will be held for people who are passionate about pastry or just interested in it.
